Louis P. and Saerree K. Fielder Israel Scholarship Fund
To perpetuate the memory of Louis P. Fiedler and honor Saerree K. Fiedler, parents whose values have been an example to their family and the community, their children have established this Scholarship Fund for students who wish to study and/or travel in Israel. A limited number of $500 merit scholarships are available for Chicago area students. The goals of the program are to develop increased Jewish identity, greater commitment to Israel and to the Chicago Jewish Community.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Demonstrate leadership and community service (Jewish, secular, or both.)
- Be a high school junior or senior to age 19 at the time of application.
- Live or attend school in Metropolitan Chicago and surrounding areas.
- Expect to participate in Jewish communal activities after returning from Israel.
Additional Information:
- Applicants may seek other scholarship funding, as well as this Award.
- Application must be made to an approved Israel Experience program. Awards will be sent directly to that program on the recipient’s behalf.
- Successful applicants will be notified of the Scholarship Committee’s decision, by mail, no later than April 15, 2009. The balance of fees due to the program is the applicant’s responsibility.
- Recipients are expected to write a letter to the Fiedler family describing their experiences and impressions, either during their time in Israel or shortly after returning.

- Please complete the form below and mail or drop off all of the other required documents at one time by February 1, 2009 to Rabbi Harvey A. Well.
- Submit three letters of recommendation, in English only, from your Rabbi, teacher, Principal, activity sponsor, or employer. Do not submit recommendations from family, friends, or peers.

Mail a certified copy of your most recent school transcript.
