New Leadership at ATT
It is with great excitement that the board of the Associated
Talmud Torahs welcomes Rabbis Mordechai Raizman and Avrohom Shimon Moller as
they assume leadership of the ATT organization. Both individuals are well-known
in the Greater Chicago Jewish educational community, have taught in the ATT
school system, and are experienced administrators.

Rabbi Mordechai Raizman
moved to Chicago
in 1994 when he became a member of the Chicago Community Kollel. In 1997, he
became Director of Outreach at Chicago Torah Network. In that role, he
coordinated and organized all aspects of adult education programs. In 2000, Rabbi
Raizman helped start Bais Medrash Mikor Hachaim, a place for learning and
davening for young adults. Rabbi Raizman has played an important role in Mikor’s
successful growth and expansion. He was instrumental in recruiting new members,
cultivating donor relations, and developing community-wide support. He helped
Mikor achieve financial stability and led a successful campaign for its new
facility. During this time, Rabbi Raizman was also an eighth grade Rebbe at Arie Crown Hebrew Day
School. In 2007, Rabbi Raizman became the
executive director of the Foundation for Learning and Development. As executive
director, he was responsible for all aspects of marketing, fundraising, donor
relations, board development, and staff supervision for the Walder Education
Pavilion, the Kehillah Fund, and the Walder Science Lab. He is also a noted
lecturer in the Chicago
area. He is frequently asked to speak at various Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Chicago functions.

Rabbi Avrohom Shimon Moller has been in Chicago for close to twenty years. He is
married to Devorah Twersky, a Chicago
native, daughter of Rabbi Eshia Twersky OBM. He received his Master of Education, Administration and Supervision from Loyola University in Chicago. During this time, he has been a Judaic
Studies teacher and the Mashgiach at Yeshivas Tiferes Tzvi (YTT), Associate
Rabbi of Congregation Lev Someach. Rabbi Moller taught Jewish History at Bais Yaakov High
School for over 10 years and helped develop its
Jewish History curriculum. As Mashgiach of YTT, his duties included: Director
of Student Services, case manager for students receiving special services in
and out of school, and an advocate for every student’s needs. He is a founding
member of EPIC (Encouraging Professionalism In Chinuch), a professional
development initiative to raise the capacity of experienced teachers in ATT
schools. Throughout his educational career, Rabbi Moller has presented on
various educational and behavioral topics for the ATT and its affiliated
schools. Rabbi Moller’s main concern has always been the student and how to
help the student achieve his potential in a safe and friendly environment.
With Rabbis Raizman and Moller, the Associated Talmud Torahs
is looking forward to meeting the educational challenges of the Greater Chicago
Jewish community. The ATT is confident that their qualities, enthusiasm, and vision
will positively impact the schools, teachers, students, and parents in the ATT
school system.
