Research for Better Teaching
The first sessions of the intensive professional development opportunity for ATT schools – Research for Better Teaching (RBT) started this week for administrators and teachers. The mission of Research for Better Teaching is to build teacher, leader, and institutional capacity to promote and sustain increased student learning and achievement. This holistic presentation of theory and practical implementation of best-practices in teaching is based on Jon Sapier’s “The Skillful Teacher – Building your Teaching Skills.” Ms. Marcia Booth, an experienced RBT consultant from Boston, addressed 34 teachers and administrators from 7 different ATT schools as they attended 4 full days of sessions that were geared to ensure expert teaching in every classroom. All participants left the sessions invigorated and challenged with new strategies and concepts to positively impact students in ATT schools. The course continues in February and March – stay tuned for updates.
