ATT Announces Hartman Family Foundation Educator of the Year Awards
Hartman Family Foundation 2011 Educator of the Year Awards
The Associated Talmud Torahs is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the Second Hartman Family Foundation Educator of the Year Awards. The awards are designed to recognize dedication, innovation, and commitment to lifelong learning. At the ATT�s Annual Banquet one award of $15,000 and two awards of $5,000 will be presented to outstanding classroom teachers in the ATT school system.
An impartial panel consisting of educational consultants and community members will make evaluations. The site visits will occur in the Fall of 2011. No Foundation members will participate.
Eligibility

Applicant must be a classroom teacher in school operating under the auspices of the Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago.

Applicant must have served in the above capacity for MORE THAN 4 full school years.

Applicant must be nominated by a fellow educator, administrator, parent, or student familiar with his/her skills and work history. No self-nominations.
Selection Criteria for Education Award
The candidate:

has exceptional instructional skills.
-
demonstrates a commitment to his/her students' success.
- is a positive role model
-
demonstrates superior communication skills with parents, students, and peers.
- creates an exceptional classroom professional development.
- demonstrates a commitment to one's school and other Jewish educational endeavors.
- effectively and passionately transmits values, knowledge, and identity.

Nomination forms will be available at the ATT office or by download at this site. (See downloads listed below.) The forms will be available March 11, 2011. All nomination materials must be submitted by May 13, 2011, by 3:00 pm to the Selection Committee of the Educator of the Year Awards, c/o Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago, 2828 W. Pratt Blvd., Chicago, IL, 60645.

The individual nominating the educator must complete the Nomination Form and questions. No self-nominations.

Two letters of reference must be completed. Letters must be completed by individuals other than the nominator and must be submitted by 3:00 pm on May 13, 2011, to the Selection Committee of the Educator of the Year Awards, c/o Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago, 2828 W. Pratt Blvd., Chicago, IL, 60645.
