The Oscar A. and Bernice Novick P'Tach Program

Founded in the late 1970’s for families in the Chicago are, P’Tach services students in grades 1-8 with learning disabilities and mild behavior issues. P’Tach currently has self-contained classrooms at Arie Crown Hebrew Day School and Joan Dachs Bais Yaakov. Students are mainstreamed and integrated into the home school program promoting academic, social, and personal success.

P’Tach strives to:

  • provide a well-rounded and supportive environment for children exhibiting learning disabilities
  • provide those children with a Jewish education in a thoroughly Jewish atmosphere, which is sensitive to their needs on a individual basis
  • integrate these children with their peers in the hopes that they will be totally mainstreamed within a Day School setting.
