The Hartman Family Foundation Educator of the Year Award
Respect. Recognition. Reverence.
Usually these are not the “Three R’s” one thinks about when considering education. However, with the ATT’s help, it is hoped that these Three R’s will be as naturally a part of education as the traditional R’s have been.
That’s because the Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago has established the Hartman Family Foundation Educator of the Year Awards, which recognize outstanding educators in the ATT system. In a culmination of a thorough evaluation process, one award of $15,000 and two awards of $5,000 each are presented to outstanding and innovative education professionals at the ATT’s annual banquet.
"With the award, it is our intention to raise the stature of all teachers in the community and emphasize the respect these professionals are due," said Robert Hartman.
The ATT’s Executive Director of Operations, Rabbi Mordechai Raizman agrees. “It has been a priority of the ATT’s leadership to help commit our community to raising the profile and recognition level of our educators. We anticipate the Educators of the Year Awards will play a key role in doing just that,” he added.
An impartial panel consisting of educational consultants and community members will make evaluations.
