2018 Tisha B'Av Program



The ATT’s Kirsche Department of Holocaust Studies invites the community to a meaningful Tisha B’Av program (for adults and children ages 16+) at the Illinois Holocaust Museum, 9603 Woods Drive, Skokie, on Sunday, July 22nd from 1:30 - 5:00 (Museum doors close at 4:00; Mincha at 4:15). Program includes Reflections from the Second Generation by Rabbi Reuven Gross, a guided exploration of the European Jewish Refugee Experience from 1933-1941 by Ms. Kelley Szany, Holocaust Museum Director of Education, main exhibit tour (for tour times, see Program link below). Note: Last tour starts at 3:15.


NEW THIS YEAR! Hear, See, and Ask Survivor Story in the Museum’s new holographic theater where you will meet a virtual Holocaust Survivor, experience a high-definition holographic interview recording paired with voice recognition technology enabling the Survivor to tell his deeply moving personal story and then respond to questions from the audience, inviting one-on-one “conversation.” First presentation at 1:30 pm; second presentation at 2:10 pm. Complimentary program. No pre-registration.
