2018 ATT's Evening with the Stars
The ATT thanks the community for its enthusiastic support of its 2018 Awards Presentation and Annual Meeting, An Evening with the Stars, held May 8th. Over 275 people gathered together to elect the 2018-2019 ATT Board and honor ATT students and teachers as they received various awards and scholarships. Following the presentations, a Glittering Star Reception was held where the celebration continued with more photo ops of the awardees and delicious refreshments.
2018 Educator of the Year Awards Recap
The Associated Talmud Torahs (ATT) Teacher Appreciation Event, was a huge success. Nearly 300 people gathered on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Bryn Mawr Country Club to celebrate the Hartman Family Foundation Educator of the Year Awards. The Ninth Annual Hartman Family Foundation Educator of the Year Awards were presented at Event, recognizing three outstanding educators in the ATT school system. They were Mrs. Sheri Goldstein, English department chair from Ida Crown Jewish Academy, whose top award is sponsored in memory of Mrs. Gayle Anne Herwitz, Mrs. Basya Breitman, a fifth grade Morah from Joan Dachs Bais Yaakov, and Rabbi Shlomoh Rhine, a pre-1A Rebbe at Yeshivas Tiferes Tzvi. The ATT thanks everyone who attended and supported this event.
2018 Nathan & Shirley Rothner ATT Summer Program
It's hard to believe the 2018 Nathan and Shirley Rothner ATT Summer Program has come to an end. New friendships were made, new skills were learned, and new places were visited. Beautiful masterpieces were created in all the classes, including sewing, cooking, art, rocketry, clay and, jewelry. Self-defense and sports provided ways for enjoying movement and physical activity. Dance, drama, and computers offered opportunities for self-expression. Color War was phenomenal creating so much ruach and excitement. The boys' night trip was a splash and the girls' was a blast. And the list goes on and on .......A great time was definitely had by all! We thank our dedicated and hardworking staff and our fabulous ATT campers for making this season the best ever. We look forward to next year, July 1, 2019.
2018 Tisha B'Av Program
The ATT’s Kirsche Department of Holocaust Studies invites the community to a meaningful Tisha B’Av program (for adults and children ages 16+) at the Illinois Holocaust Museum, 9603 Woods Drive, Skokie, on Sunday, July 22nd from 1:30 - 5:00 (Museum doors close at 4:00; Mincha at 4:15). Program includes Reflections from the Second Generation, a guided exploration of the European Jewish Refugee Experience from 1933-1941, main exhibit tour (for tour times, visit Read More). Note: Last tour starts at 3:15. NEW THIS YEAR! Hear, See, and Ask Survivor Story in the Museum’s new holographic theater. First presentation at 1:30 pm; second presentation at 2:10 pm. Complimentary program. No pre-registration.
2018 Tisha B'Av Program Recap
The ATT’s Kirsche Department of Holocaust Studies expresses its gratitude for the beautiful response to its Tisha B’Av Program at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center. Nearly 350 attendees demonstrated that the victims of the Holocaust, their suffering and their memories, will never be forgotten. Special thanks to the Holocaust Museum and its capable museum staff for their sensitive and respectful accommodation of this event. The ATT thanks Rabbi Reuven Gross for sharing his reflections of the Holocaust, Ms. Kelley Szany for an informative presentation, our museum tour guides, Vivian Bloch & Marshall Meyers, our Holographic Theater moderator, Laurie Hasten, Hatzalah, and our parent volunteers for their assistance in making the ATT’s Tisha B’Av Program at the Illinois Holocaust Museum a meaningful experience for all those who attended. A special thanks to Mr. Israel Starck for his special visit to the Holographic Theater.
2019 ATT Citywide Torah Bowl Recap
2019 ATT Citywide Torah Bowl sponsored by the Bassman Family Foundation Program – A Smashing Success! Nearly 200 students from ATT schools participated in this program. Last Sunday, 32 girls and 32 boys participated in the Torah Bowl Game Day. Their mastery of the material was inspiring. Thank you to Rabbi Yitzchak Lurie, Mrs. Chani Friedman, and the entire Torah Bowl Committee for organizing the program and to the volunteers who made the program run so smoothly. A hearty Yasher Koach to all those who participated.
2019 ATT's Evening with the Stars
The Associated Talmud Torahs of Chicago invites the community to its Evening with the Stars. Join the ATT as it presents student and teacher awards at its Awards Presentation and Annual Meeting, on Tuesday evening, May 21, 2019, at the Ida Crown Jewish Academy, 8233 Central Park Avenue, Skokie. The ATT thanks the 100+ parents, students, teachers.. who took the time and effort to complete and submit a 2019 Educator of the Year nomination form.
2nd Midwest Holocaust Symposium – Update
ATT thanks the over 400 people who attended this week’s Second Midwest Holocaust Symposium at the Illinois Holocaust Museum commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps. HaRav Yisroel Meir Lau’s important message was both meaningful and inspirational. Special recognition goes to Mr. Rudolph Tessler and Mr. Robert Hartman for the program’s vision and to the Hartman Family Foundation for its generous sponsorship of the program.
32st Annual Rabbi Isaac Mayefsky Memorial Lecture Recap
Close to 200 parents of school-age children joined the Associated Talmud Torahs on Motzaei Shabbos, December 1, 2018, to attend the 32nd Annual Rabbi Isaac Mayefsky Memorial Lecture. This annual parenting program featured the renowned Rabbi, author, educator, and social worker, Rabbi Dani Staum.
3rd Annual ATT Yedios Klaliyos Program Concludes
Nearly 50 students from ATT schools participated in this year's program. 24 students participated in the Yedios Klaliyos Final Round. Their mastery of the material was inspiring. Thank you to Rabbi Dovid Rifkind, Program Coordinator of the ATT Yedios Klaliyos Program, for organizing the program and to the volunteers who made the program run so smoothly. A hearty Yasher Koach to all those who participated.

The ATT proudly announces the winners of the Ninth Annual Hartman Family Foundation Educator of the Year Awards. Asher Essay/Judaic Artwork Contests 2019
The ATT extends a hearty Yishar Koach to the 300+ students who submitted Asher Judaic Artwork and/or Asher Essays this year. We look forward to viewing each piece of your artwork and reading each of your essays. All students will receive a letter of thanks for participating. Winners will receive recognition and prizes at the ATT’s Awards Presentation in May.
ATT Announces Two New Initiatives!
ATT proudly announces two new initiatives: The Davis Family Initiative, the School Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and the hiring of a full-time social worker for the Dr. Oscar A. and Bernice Novick PTACH Program.
